Denver Center Solar Park Powers Drive Toward "Most Sustainable Campus"
The Denver Federal Center (DFC) Solar Park is testament to how the GSA uses solar energy to put energy conservation and sustainable design into practice. Completed in January 2008, the Solar Park is comprised of over 6,192 individual photovoltaic solar panels. It produces over 1.6 million kilowatt-hours of energy each year; enough to power 145 average houses in Colorado.

The impact on the environment is huge. On an annual basic, the Solar Park saves 2.2 million lbs of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere, which equals to the burning of 5.2 railcars of coal ro the emissions of 183 cars. It's one of many steps the DFC is taking to become the nation's most sustainable campus by 2020.
