About Solar Energy
How Solar Energy Works
Three things are required to use solar energy as an electric power source: The sun, a set of solar panels and an inverter. Here's how they work together:

When the sun shines on solar panels in a solar power plant, solar photons excite electrons in the panels and create an electricity flow that feeds into an inverter. The inverter converts the direct current (DC) electricity into an alternating current (AC) that powers electric devices such as lighting, and heating and cooling systems.
