| About GSA |
 |
| GSA Leads the Greening of the US Government | | The GSA (US General Services Administration) is the lead acquisition arm of the federal government. Founded in 1949, it manages more than a quarter of the government's total procurement dollars. The GSA influences the management of $500 billion in federal assets, including 8,600 government-owned or leased buildings and 208,000 vehicles.
Armed with the vast buying power of the US government, the GSA gets best value for American taxpayers and its federal customers by providing first-class workplaces, quality acquisitions, expert business solutinos and effective management policies. One way the GSA delivers value is ensuring environmental stewardship through energy conservation and sustainability.
The GSA builds green, buys green and drives green. And it makes it possible for other federal agencies to do the same based on the goals and requirements of Executive Order (EO) 13423, Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management. A leader in energy conservation and sustainable design, the GSA manages and operates the Denver Federal Center, the US government's largest, non-military user of solar power. |
